Talent Community | Current & Future Client Opportunities

We are expanding our network of Design Engineers in Tulsa, OK to support current and upcoming engineering modernization, reverse-engineering, and product development programs. Our engineers will transform legacy 2D drawings and historical design data into accurate, production-ready 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks, advanced surfacing techniques, and 3D scanning technologies. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project stakeholders to develop robust design solutions, validate component functionality, and ensure designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing standards, and product performance objectives.

Responsibilities

CAD Design & Engineering Development

  • Convert legacy 2D engineering drawings, including hand-drawn blueprints, into detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Utilize advanced SolidWorks surfacing tools to recreate complex geometries and mechanical components.
  • Develop production-ready drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Perform assembly fit checks to validate design intent and component integration.
  • Conduct GD&T reviews and tolerance stack-up analyses to support manufacturability and product performance.
  • Manage drawing revisions, engineering changes, and design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support prototype builds and incorporate testing results and stakeholder feedback into updated designs.
  • Ensure final engineering deliverables meet client specifications and quality standards.

Reverse Engineering & 3D Scanning

  • Support reverse-engineering activities for legacy components and assemblies.
  • Perform or assist with disassembly of mechanical assemblies to facilitate inspection, measurement, and CAD reconstruction.
  • Conduct or support 3D scanning activities using handheld or stationary scanning equipment.
  • Utilize scan data to accurately recreate complex mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Validate reconstructed geometry against source data, drawings, and customer requirements.

Project Coordination & Technical Support

  • Coordinate design activities, project schedules, and engineering deliverables.
  • Communicate project status, technical challenges, and design updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to ensure successful design execution.
  • Support design reviews, prototype evaluations, and implementation activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes and engineering standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD design and modeling.
  • Experience converting legacy engineering drawings into 3D CAD models.
  • Ability to interpret hand-drawn engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience with advanced surfacing techniques and complex geometry creation.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis.

  • Experience supporting reverse-engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using handheld or stationary 3D scanning systems, including structured light or laser scanners.
  • Background within rail, transportation, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or similar industries.
  • Experience conducting assembly fit checks and mechanical validation activities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings, field inspections, or part evaluations.
  • Ability to safely disassemble mechanical assemblies using hand tools and common fastening systems.
  • Comfortable working in shop, laboratory, or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to inspect, measure, and handle physical components.
  • Capable of squatting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods as required.
