We are growing our team of experienced Quality Inspectors to support critical manufacturing and production programs in Hornell, New York. Our inspectors will support incoming inspection and quality assurance activities by verifying compliance of interior, metallic, electrical, and subsystem components received from a diverse supplier base. This role works closely with quality, manufacturing, supplier quality, and supply chain teams to ensure product conformity, prevent quality escapes, and maintain uninterrupted production flow.

 

Responsibilities

 

Incoming Inspection & Quality Control

 

  • Perform Quality Control inspections based on defined inspection rates, inspection checklists, and standard incoming inspection processes provided by the client.
  • Conduct incoming inspections on interior, metallic, electrical, and subsystem components according to production priorities.
  • Assess component acceptability and compliance against defined engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards.
  • Record inspection results within designated inspection plans and industrial digital systems.
  • Work closely with the Incoming Inspection Manager to execute daily purge activities and achieve established inspection targets.
  • Provide immediate feedback regarding defects, discrepancies, or non-conformances identified during inspections.
  • Alert appropriate stakeholders regarding new defect types or recurring quality concerns.
  • Ensure parts flow is maintained while preventing non-conforming material from reaching production lines.
  • Secure accurate and timely completion of all incoming inspection activities.

 

Quality Documentation & Compliance

 

  • Perform inspections according to Quality Control Plans and ensure product compliance.
  • Record inspection results in SAP_GSI and other designated ERP or quality management systems.
  • Maintain inspection records for components, assemblies, and vehicles as required.
  • Maintain quality documentation and traceability records for incoming materials and products.
  • Prepare approval documentation and shipping-related quality records.
  • Verify proper calibration status of inspection equipment, instruments, and measurement tools used during inspections.
  • Perform non-destructive examinations when qualified and required.

 

Non-Conformance Management & Continuous Improvement

 

  • Participate in daily NCR cell meetings and incoming inspection review meetings.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Product Quality Development (SPQD), SQ Serial Engineers, and Incoming Inspectors to establish and maintain inspection control plans.
  • Capture inspection results within ERP systems using documented sampling plans and inspection criteria.
  • Support updates to control plans when non-conformances are detected at incoming inspection or production stages.
  • Inform Supplier Quality and Supply Chain teams of incoming defects and potential impacts to part availability.
  • Support corrective action activities and quality improvement initiatives related to incoming inspection performance.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline required.
  • 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 8+ years of experience in a Quality role.
  • Experience using SAP, SAP_GSI, or similar ERP/computer-based quality systems.
  • Familiarity with supplier qualification standards such as ISO, ASME, IRIS, and related quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric models.
  • Experience using a variety of measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, KPI reporting, and presentation preparation.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with common manufacturing products and associated defect modes.
  • Experience conducting audits or supporting quality assurance activities.
  • Management experience in Supplier Quality or Incoming Inspection.
  • Railway industry experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and manufacturing quality processes.

Final compensation will be determined based on the role, skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market-based rates by geography
