EXPLEO USA is looking for a Special Service Vehicle Accessory Engineer to join a dynamic and expanding team in Troy, Michigan.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage Source Package documents.
- Support Mopar Purchasing to review suppliers’ technical submissions and assist in supplier selection.
- Design, develop, and release accessories for special service vehicles.
- Partner with brand planning and strategy teams to develop new feature ideas.
- Conduct feasibility studies with Electrical, Interior/Exterior, Vehicle Integration, and Product Design teams.
- Support component supplier development activities and ensure compliance with design and manufacturing processes.
- Support prototype builds and validation efforts to demonstrate proof of concept.
- Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and internal teams.
- Lead vehicle and component validation activities based on DVP plans.
- Track and manage project timelines to ensure on-time program launches.
- Manage engineering changes on vehicle systems and components.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, and production teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering or accessory development.
- Wire harness or electrical design experience is required.
- Strong understanding of part design processes, manufacturing processes, and material selection.
- Experience with vehicle integration, accessory validation, and production processes.
- Familiarity with Mopar processes, supplier development, and validation activities is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work in cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with special service vehicle conversions or aftermarket customization is a plus.

- Competitive Compensation – $70K–$105K annually. Final compensation is determined based on skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market-based rates by geography.
